A new Calendar year underway, how's your Strategic Plan tracking?
Tuesday 22 January 2013
It's easy to get distracted at this time of year what with many people on holidays, the New Year on the 1st of Jan or 10th of Feb depending on your preferred calendar, or the upcoming back to school time frame. And the core question is this: Is your organisation on track to deliver what it said it would?
Distractions are a natural part of the organisational process be they internally or externally derived. And good organisations know that focus on objectives is what counts. If you're using the Organisational Evolution Model as your Strategic Planning framework you'll be targetting 3 questions:
1. Right now, are we using our available capabilities in the way we said we would?
2. Are we monitoring our progress using pre-considered and emerging signals of change?
3. Are we ensuring we hold ourseleves accountable to what we have set out to achieve?
If you're asking those questions and responding accordingly, then this time of the year should really b now different from any other - yo're just adapting to the required flow of progress and maintain focus on your Vision. And if you're not asking those questions there's a fair chance that right now, your organisation is 'spinning its wheels' trying to gain some traction and momentum.
And in TASPI's opinion, that's NOT a great way to expend your organisational energy. So get focused and get productive
